Even though summer is winding down, the Farmers Market at Kennedy Plaza is still going strong.
For six years, the popular market, which runs Wednesdays and Saturdays through Nov. 25, has featured regional producers offering fresh products including vegetables, herbs, fruits, plants, baked goods, fish, shellfish, eggs, cheeses, pasta, pickles, fair trade coffee, gluten free products, handcrafted soaps, poultry, pork and much more. This year the market introduced new producers offering yogurt, nut butters, organic herb and vegetable plants.
“We are very happy to be back in Long Beach,” said Market Manager and Program Director Bernadette Martin. “We have lots of new products to offer, and residents whose gardens were damaged by Hurricane Sandy will have a wide selection of plants, including flats and hanging baskets, for the spring planting season.”
Visit the Kennedy Plaza Farmers Market at 1 West Chester St. through Nov. 25, on Wednesdays, 10 A.M. to 7 p.m., and Saturdays, 9 A.M. to 2 P.M.
